Dominoes

lyrics

I read about the first people with a broken heart
that they brought em by twos onto Noah's ark
to remember that it's not about a perfect start
what you do with all the pieces is the work of art

I thought it cute, so I applied it to the way I live
A little oxygen and effort for the seas I swim
A little pocket knife to fight me out the weeds I'm in
A little socket to ignite the light beneath my skin

It's not the business of the many to decide my fate
It's not the syntax of assembly to assign my shape
It's not the process of the plenty to provide my mate
I'd rather walk beside the fire than let it fill my plate

What do you do with that?
Do you hold it for a while, and try to give it back?
Try to represent the message in a conscious act?
I don't know that there's an answer, and maybe that's the map

Whatchu gonna find going under?
You know we gotta find any other way

Where'd you go?
Broke into the bottle long time ago
We've been telling stories that they oughta know
knockin' down divisions like they're dominoes
